Nuts are practically everywhere because its a great ingredient to various food dishes. You can see nuts in ice creams, chocolates, cakes and many other cuisines. It’s an enjoyable food and very satisfying. Almond, my favorite nut is fortified with vitamins and minerals plus, its been studied to help lower your risks of heart disease.


Nut’s heart’s benefits are mainly due to its mono and polyunsaturated fats, compounds that can effectively reduce your cholesterol levels. Some super nuts do have enough amounts of omega-3 fatty acids which is also an essential nutrient for the body.


You probably have seen the word “nuts” from dozens of my posts here, indicating that this amazing food is not just nutritious, but are somewhat surprisingly helpful for weight loss. A research done by The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition suggests, that nuts if incorporated into your diet, may help in controlling your weight.


Another study by Purdue University states that people who regularly eat nuts tends to have a lower body mass index than those people who don’t. These studies all favors that eating nuts cannot harm your weight loss efforts nor it can contribute to weight gain.

In the studies mentioned above, nuts also helps increase the total number of calories you burn each day, even while you are asleep. This is mainly due to an increase on your resting energy expenditure, making you burn more calories at a higher rate while at rest.


So maintaining a moderate amounts of nuts in your diet is beneficial to your health and fitness. It can boost your metabolism and gives you more appetite control. But the question is, what kind of nuts to eat?

Other nuts that can help you lose weight are pistachio nuts, macadamia nuts, brazil nuts, pecan nuts, coconuts and pine nuts.
